What can we do? That is the question that finds us when a natural disaster or tragedy strikes. As the images have poured out of storm-affected cities across South Texas, we have all undoubtedly wanted to help, but wondered how. Our Associate Pastor for Mission and Outreach, Rev. Kathy Lee Cornell, has been working diligently to coordinate a broad effort for this coming Saturday.
On Saturday, September 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., Preston Hollow will be partnering with St. Michael’s Episcopal Church and Meals of Hope to host a meal-packing event to ensure that nonperishable food reaches the flood-affected areas long after the news coverage fades. Your two hours this Saturday can make a direct impact in helping our neighbors down south. If you are unable to be here, you can donate to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, whose mission is to support long-term recovery efforts. To donate please visit their website here.
