At PHPC, we know that the dynamics of grief are complex since they involve physical, emotional, and spiritual aspects. We recognize the need for support through the journey that leads to healing, so we offer several opportunities that may help you through the grieving process.
For more information about grief programs and counseling, please contact Sarah Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or at 214-368-6348, ext. 134.
Journey Toward Healing Classes
Twice a year during the fall and spring, Preston Hollow offers a six-week grief support group for those walking the journey of grief. Sessions run an hour and a half and participants spend a portion of the time as a large group learning about tools for navigating grief, followed by time in supportive small groups with those facing a similar loss. The class learns and grows together for six weeks and celebrates with a final dinner together on week seven. For questions or more information contact Rev. Sarah Johnson, 214-368-6348 ext. 134. Cost is $25.
The next Journey Toward Healing session will be Tuesdays, April 12 - May 24, 2016 from 7 - 8:30 p.m.
Faith and Grief Luncheon
On the third Thursday of every month, PHPC hosts a Faith and Grief luncheon. If you are mourning the death of a loved one, we invite you to attend.
The luncheons are free (donations are greatly appreciated) and open to the public; however, reservations are required by the third Monday of each month. These luncheons allow those going through the grieving process to circle together and be strengthened by food, Scripture, prayers, and reflection.
To register, call 469-251-9612, or register online here.
Luncheons are from noon to 1 p.m. in Jubilee Hall.
PHPC member Linda V. Smith is a retired counselor who volunteers her services to PHPC on Mondays. Linda is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, and Licensed Clinical Social Worker. If you would like to schedule an appointment or just visit with Linda to get acquainted and learn about the process of therapy, please contact her at email@example.com.
