Keeping You in the Loop: Enhancing Audio Access in Worship
A life of faith begins in worship. It starts as we are gathered together praising God. The apostle Paul declares in Romans 10:17 that “faith comes from what is heard.” Therefore, being able to hear in the Sanctuary, being able to hear and to share in the liturgy (the work of the people) is a high priority.
PHPC offers a hearing loop in the Sanctuary to assist those who have hearing aids or cochlear implants. If your device has a T- coil (telecoil) then when you enter into the main body of the congregation (the nave) you will be able to have direct access to the public address system. The loop is simply a copper wire placed around the walls of the Sanctuary that magnetically transmits sound to your T-coil enabled device. The T-coil receives sound when you are inside the loop. Please speak with your hearing professional if you have questions about the compatibility of your device. The website http://www.hearingloop.org/ also has lots of great information.
For those without hearing devices, we also have RF (radio frequency) hearing assist devices . An usher can assist you each Sunday with getting a RFset to use in worship. You can use our headphones or bring your favorite set of headphones or earbuds from home.
If you have questions about use of this technology, please contact Dr. Paul Seelman, Executive Pastor, email@example.com or 214-368-6348, ext. 117.
These projects are made possible thanks to a generous grant from the PHPC Foundation.
