PHPC Music Ministry
The Music Ministry of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church is a vital and active music program that involves vocal ensembles, handbell choirs, and instruments. We hope that God will be glorified and that both performers and hearers will be moved to a closer relationship with God.
A night of (mostly!) all-American music in PHPC's Sanctuary
Sunday, June 3 at 7 p.m.
Directions and Map to PHPC
Enjoy patriotic anthems, gospel songs, and a variety of great American music at PHPC’s Americana Concert on Sunday, June 3, at 7 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Our guest conductor is Paul Leddington Wright, principal conductor and arranger for BBC Television’s “Songs of Praise.” This event is hosted by Clarice Tinsley and features the PHPC Sanctuary Choir, Orchestra, and Ringers, with special guest musicians including Emmy Award-winning composer Gary Fry, Brandon Nase, and Michael Morton. The program will include two premiere performances of music written specifically for this concert by Mack Wilberg, Director of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, and by Gary Fry. Free child care is available, and admission is free. As part of the Americana tradition at PHPC, we will have an old-fashioned ice cream social in Jubilee Hall after the performance.

Sanctuary Choir
The Sanctuary Choir, a group of dedicated singers, leads both the 9:30 and 11:00 worship services each Sunday. They sing a variety of styles of traditional church music in worship and also have several special concerts throughout the year.
The Sanctuary Choir commissioned several anthems and major works to be written. This process allowed our choir to sing the premiere performances of music by such composers as Bob Chilcott, Hal Hopson, Paul Leddington Wright, Ray Andrews, and Anthony Di Lorenzo.
Our choir has even toured both nationally and internationally with performances for the International Church Music Festival in Rome, the Cambridge (England) Summer Music Festival, the Texas Choral Directors Association, and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians national conference.
Children's Choirs
We organize our children's choirs to include children from ages four through sixth grade.The goal of the choirs is to provide religious, educational, and recreational opportunities for children to developing an understanding of worship, to encourage a sense of personal responibility and cooperation, and to present music to the glory of God.

For children in first and second grades

Jubilate Singers
For children in third through sixth grades
Rehearsals Sunday mornings from 8:45 - 9:30 in room S218
Westminster Singers
This choir is for youth in grades 7 through 12 who have a high level of commitment to God and to the church. They sing during worship services on a regular basis and also lead special services on Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Easter.
Rehearsals are Sunday mornings from 10:40 - 11:10 in the Youth House.

Handbell Choirs
Our handbell choirs provide music for both worship services and special programs in the church and community.
Our Jubilate Ringers are children in third to sixth grade. They rehearse Sunday mornings from 10:30 - 10:55 in room S218.
The Sanctuary Ringers handbell choir is open to adults and college-aged people who can read music and have a good sense of rhythm. They rehearse Wednesday evenings from 5:30 - 7 in room S218. Child care is available.
