Hurricane Harvey Disaster Relief

main image

Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Many of us have family and friends across south Texas, and the past few days have been heart-wrenching as we wait for updates and confirmation that our loved ones are safe and out of harm's way.

It is difficult to feel like helpless bystanders when so many are hurting. Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church remains committed to supporting our neighbors near and far in the journey to recovery in the days, weeks, and months ahead. We will stay in communication with our fellow congregations and partners as they assess and determine the needs in their communities.

Presbyterian Disaster Assistance (PDA), the emergency response and refugee program of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), is in contact with leadership in New Covenant, Mission, and South Louisiana Presbyteries. They are working to meet immediate needs and support long-term recovery efforts. To read more about PDA's ongoing response, click here for more information.

To support recovery efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey, donations can be made to Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church with a note designating the donation for Hurricane Harvey relief efforts.

To donate directly to Presbyterian Disaster Assistance, click here. You’ll be taken to the PC(USA) website to donate securely and quickly.

If you are interested in volunteering in recovery relief efforts, please contact Rev. Kathy Lee-Cornell at  , and you will be contacted as opportunities develop.

Finally, please join us in prayer:

Almighty and gracious God, in the midst of storms and destruction, we hold fast to you. We pray for all those whose lives and homes have been touched by Hurricane Harvey, tornadoes, and flood waters. We give thanks for first responders and for neighbors taking care of neighbors. May your light and mercy pour out upon all those who feel the shroud of darkness during this difficult time. Open our hearts and hands as you call us to pray, love, and serve your children who are suffering. Enliven your Spirit in all of us to journey together in restoring hope, rebuilding homes, and celebrating community. In your holy name we pray, Amen.
