Preston Hollow was one of the founding congregations for the Interfaith Housing Coalition(IHC), and we continue to support both it and its mission 100%! IHC strives to be the hands of Christ to homeless families by providing traditional rather than barracks-style housing, training, and support services to both parents and children. Through 6-12 month programs, families get to live in an apartment, learn how to budget, establish a savings account, and work on finding, getting, and keeping a job. And when they graduate, families are able to take anything and everything they need to set up housekeeping in their new life.
Within this great work, volunteers are needed to help mentor residents on budget and employment, to provide tutoring and lessons to children, to help those residents looking to pass their GED improve scholastic skills, to assist in job searches, provide office support, and work on special projects. Entire families can participate with IHC by being a Host Family in support of residents. Physicians and dentists always are needed to give consultations and treatments.

EQUIP PROGRAM
This new program of IHC works with families on the brink of homelessness. Equip trains mentors to work with families for 4-6 months to help them attain skills to keep them on their feet. Mentors and families meet at mutually determined locations.
