Homelessness continues to grow in Dallas. In May 2008, The Stewpot became the partner agency for meal services at The Bridge Homeless Assistance Center, just three blocks south of The Stewpot.
The dining room at The Bridge is called the Second Chance Café. The Stewpot is currently serving three meals a day, seven days a week to more than 700 people per meal with the assistance of over 1300 wonderful volunteers a month. Volunteers dish up a delicious nutritious meal prepared by The Second Chance Café kitchen staff served cafeteria style. Volunteers also pour beverages for our guests once they are seated.
It is easy to get involved with The Stewpot / Bridge through PHPC. We help serve lunch (11:30 – 1:00 p.m.) at the Bridge twice a month on the second Thursday and fourth Friday.
