Moms on Monday (MOMS)
1st Mondays (study group) and 3rd Mondays (play dates)

Moms on Monday (MOMS) is a group of young women with infants or small children who gather for fellowship and study. The first Monday of the month is dedicated to study (childcare provided). The third Monday of the month is a play day for mothers and children together. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know other moms. Newcomers welcome anytime!

Presbyterian Women (PW)

Presbyterian Women (PW) is open to all women, as everyone has something unique to offer. Part of PW’s purpose is “to build an inclusive, caring community of women that strengthens the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and witnesses to the promise of God’s kingdom.” Strong and caring women accomplish this purpose. Typically, a PHPC pastor reviews the day’s lesson, and then we break into Circles for in-depth discussion. Childcare is available by reservation 48 hours in advance.

Tuesday Men’s Breakfast

Tuesday Men’s Breakfast is a group of PHPC men of all ages who gather to share a casual breakfast and fellowship. Blair Monie leads Bible Study once a month, and the class members present topics of interest the other weeks. Bring a friend or colleague!

Young Adult Bible Study
2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 7:00-8:30 p.m.

God doesn’t want us to “do life” alone. Let PHPC help you find a place to build friendships and grow your faith. Young Adults (20s and 30s; singles, couples; and married) gather for the purpose of growing in relationship with God and each other. Join us to eat, worship, study, and pray together.

Parents of Little Ones (POLO)
3rd Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.
Location: Members’ homes
 
Parents of Little Ones (POLO) is a group of parents with small children (mostly under age 5) that gathers once a month in a member’s home for dinner and fellowship. Every month offers a different speaker and topic of conversation. POLO meets close to PHPC, which allows the group to use the church for childcare. New members are always welcome!

No Embarrassment, No Excuses Bible Study

No Embarrassment, No Excuses Bible Study is designed for anyone wanting to be part of a non-threatening exploration of the scriptures and the character of the Christian life. This fall the group will study the New Testament Letters of Peter, which are rich in theological and spiritual messages. 
 
The 6:45 a.m. class attracts those who enjoy lively conversation and study on the way to work. The only requirement is an open heart and mind, and a willingness to learn from one another. The 11:00 a.m. class includes a number of our more “mature” members (who also participate in some of the other “Wonderful Wednesday” activities), but all age groups are represented.

Women’s Evening Bible Study (WEBS)

Women’s Evening Bible Study (WEBS) enjoys energetic fellowship, Bible study and prayerful support. Group members range from ages 25-75; most, but not all, are working women who cannot attend study during the day. Diverse backgrounds enrich the dialogue and encourage the application of our studies.

Wednesday at the Movies

Wonderful Wednesdays is adding a new opportunity for fellowship and fun. After lunch in the North Dining Room, join us every 3rd Wednesday for a movie in Emmanuel Hall! This year, we will be watching films that deal with faith, and most feature clergy with church-related situations. RSVPs are NOT required!

Wednesday Women’s Fellowship is a Bible study and prayer support for moms of preschoolers, elementary aged children, and beyond. The group meets each Wednesday, with an optional lunch afterward for $4.

Invitation to Psalms 
This ten-week study examines how these ancient texts of praise, lament, worship, and prayer can still speak to us and for us.
 
Invitation to Genesis 
This ten-week study approaches the Book of Genesis as a story of beginnings, to help us understand more clearly God's purpose in these beginnings.
 
Invitation to the New Testament
This eight-week study explores how the new Testament writers and the early Christian community wrestled with the coming of Jesus, and the impolications of his arrival for their lives and their communities of faith.

PHPC Evening Book Group

If you are looking for a way to create community within the church and you enjoy reading, you are invited to join the PHPC Evening Book Group. Discussion will be facilitated by group members. There's no need to register. Look for specific meeting dates in the PHPC worship bulletin (dates are subject to change depending on what works best for participants). This year we will read a variety of books written by both male and female authors and the group is open to anyone who would like to attend. Join us for lively discussion and fellowship.

Saturday Men’s Breakfast is a small group of PHPC men who meet weekly for a hearty breakfast and fellowship. The men of all ages share joys and concerns, and explore their faith through study. New faces are welcome any week.

Childcare at PHPC
 
Childcare (age six weeks—kindergarten) is available for all Sunday morning activities. Please go to the Shepherd’s Gate (first floor Education Wing) and you and your child will be directed to the age appropriate classroom.
 
Childcare by reservation is also available for most weekday educational opportunities (the only classes that do not have childcare are those that meet before 9:00 a.m.). If you would like childcare to attend a class, please contact Susan Allen at 214.368.6348 x108 at least 48 hours in advance.
