PHPS Preschool

 

Preston Hollow Presbyterian Preschool was founded in 1953. It is a preschool program for children ages 2 years 6 months through pre-kindergarten. Our overall curriculum is developed to help children grow in all areas of their development. We focus on helping children build their self-esteem while providing activities that stimulate the children's awareness of the world around them, the expansion of language and listening skills, and age appropriate readiness skills. "Handwriting Without Tears" is a component of our curriculum designed to encompass foundation skills for successful learning in the areas of: Playing and Singing, Motor, Social/Emotional, Cognitive/Language, Sensory and Visual Perceptual. In a self-contained classroom environment, children are exposed to art, music, movement, science and other age-appropriate activities. The 5 day pre-k classes attend a music class once a week and the "High Touch, High Tech" science group conducts science experiments monthly.   Our ultimate goal is to provide a warm, loving and supportive environment in which children will develop a love of learning and a love of school.
