PHPS Summer Programs

PHPS Summer Programs

Preston Hollow offers two sessions of Summer Lab: one four week session at the beginning of summer, and another four week session beginning the 3rd week of July. These l l/2 hour classes - five days a week - offer a student an opportunity to work on skills in a small group (no more than three). This is an excellent time to concentrate on weak areas, but also it helps to maintain the growth that has been made during the year. This wonderful tutorial program serves students from many area private and public schools as well as students from PHPS.

Other summer programs available to all area schools are:

Computer - private lessons or small group instruction in keyboarding are available upon request.

Tutoring - classroom teachers are often available during the summer for private tutoring.

Summer Music Program “Music Mania” is taught by the music teacher at PHPS, Ashley Alexander. During each two week session, students will learn the proper fundamentals of singing and performing. Students will learn basic vocal and acting techniques and incorporate these skills into a final performance. For age groups 4-8.

Summer Art Program is taught by our art teacher, William Flint. Group instruction is available in a variety of media. Classes meet weekdays for two to four weeks throughout the summer and are scheduled to coordinate with other PHPS activities. Children are guided to explore art materials as a means of self expression while building competence in handling of materials. Small class size enhances meaningful social interaction and enables frequent one-to-one instruction with Mr. Flint.

Summer Sports Camp is taught by our physical education teacher, Jeff Rosen. During each one week session, lasting from 9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., campers participate in a wide variety of activities which aid in their physical, emotional and social development. Wonderful fun and learning is had by all. For boys and girls 6-12.
