 If you have an interest in flowers, gardens, and horticulture in general. Join The Growing Saints Garden Club at PHPC and get to know some people who share the same interests as you! Membership is open to members and friends of PHPC and dues of $25.00 for the year are payable from May to June 15. The Growing Saints meet one Friday a month from September through May each year at 10:00am in Jubilee Hall. The Growing Saints Garden Club will hold its last meeting before the summer on Friday, May 21 at 10:00am in Jubilee Hall. The program will be the installation of officers for next year, followed by a delicious Spring Celebration luncheon. Reservations will be necessary for the lunch and will be $10.00 per person. Reservations need to be in by Monday, May 17, and cancellations turned in by Wednesday, May 19. You will be responsible for your reservations! The Growing Saints Garden Club will gather on Friday, April 16 promptly at 9:45am(notice time change) in Jubilee Hall, where we will carpool together to Under the Sun Garden Center, 7124 Campbell Road, Dallas 75248, where Rick Helm will speak to us about “ Gardening Tips”. Following the program, those who made reservations to do so via the telephone committee, will have lunch at The Chocolate Angel, 635 West Campbell Road, #310, at the corner of W. The program will be given by Steve Houser from Arborilogical Services on the subject of “ Trees “. This should be an interesting and informative program for all! The Growing Saints Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Friday, February 19 at 10 a.m. in Jubilee Hall. Guests are always welcome! The program will be given by Susan Odom and Brenda Byrd (Kathy Foster’s daughter), who will relate their experiences as members of a special volunteer ministry working with a women’s prison in our area along with other members of their group, 32 in all. The title of their program is Women Set Free.
Membership in the GSGC is open to members and friends of PHPC. Some of the projects the garden club has funded this year are a new watering machine for potted plants at PHPC, money to help dig a deep well in Malawi and the recent purchase of a new 10-foot Douglas Fir lighted Christmas tree for the atrium at PHPC.
