English composer Bob Chilcott, former member of the Kings Singers and now one of the world’s foremost composers of choral music, will be at Preston Hollow Presbyterian on Sunday evening, March 21, at 7:00 p.m. in the sanctuary, to conduct the American premiere of his new setting of the Requiem.  Through a special gift, the Sanctuary Choir joined forces with the Bach Choir of Oxford, England, to commission this major work for choir and orchestra.  The world premiere will be on March 13  in England.  Mr. Chilcott, has written several anthems for the choir over the past ten years, including “Now Thank We” that was written for the dedication of the Jubilee renovation and construction campaign.  Also on the program will be several anthems by Mr. Chilcott that will include the Sanctuary Choir, Jubilate Singers children’s choir and orchestra.  Rounding out the program will be the wonderful Coronation Anthem No. 2, “The King Shall Rejoice,” by Handel.  There is no charge for the program, and a reception will follow in the Atrium.
