We believe that God calls each of us at particular times, to particular places, and to particular people. The good news has always been that we believe in a God who chooses to work through us in particular ways. A new call has emerged for one of our teammates, and we give God great thanks for the new chapter in their ministry and life.
I writing to let you know that our Associate Director of Music, Michael Groff, has accepted a new position at Greenhill as the K-4 Music Instructor. I know Michael’s gifts will be on full display, as he helps to bring the gift of music to light for the students at Greenhill.
We are grateful for Michael’s many gifts and considerable ministry at Preston Hollow and celebrate with him in this new call.
- Rev. Matthew Ruffner
"Michael has been a consummate Christian music educator. Children under his leadership (toddlers through 6th grade) grew in so many ways both seen and unseen: faith formation, love of music, music skill development, listening, math, fine and gross motor skills, and creativity," said Steve Jobman, Director of Music. "In addition, as an Associate Director of Music, he served with great skills for communication, logistics, set-up details and so much more. He really shone during the pandemic era with his nearly unparalleled skills in virtual choir production, as evidenced by his national leadership of Chorister's Guild workshops on the subject. We treasure Michael's time with us and wish him the very best in the next step of his career."
"I’m grateful for my five years at Preston Hollow and I’m so glad for our ministry together," said Michael "While I'm very much looking forward to my work at Greenhill, I'll certainly miss the community at Preston Hollow and cherish the relationships I've cultivated here."
We will celebrate Michael's ministry in worship at 10 a.m. on July 18!
