I pray that this email finds you safe and warm. As of this writing, some of you are still volunteering in Vickery Meadow, providing emergency provisions to our friends and neighbors. Undoubtedly, some of you are still without power and bundled under blankets. I am aware that many of you are dealing with frozen and busted pipes. Others of you are going on day four of hosting family and friends without power and water. I pray that wherever you are this day, you know that you are not alone. You all have been on my mind and in my prayers this week. My heart goes out to every one of you. I pray that even in the midst of these trying days, you have felt the Spirit of God hovering close.
Rev. Kathy Lee-Cornell and the Mission Council has been very active this week, responding to catastrophic needs in Vickery Meadow. You can find ways to serve and donate here.
I look forward to journeying our first Sunday in Lent with you this week. Due to the weather conditions, worship has been recorded in our homes. If this season has taught us anything, it is to learn to grow and adapt. I trust no matter the recording venue, worship will be holy.
Love and light to you and your family this day. Hang in there, and I look forward to “seeing” you on Sunday.
With great hope,
