Established in 1983 by five North Dallas congregations, North Dallas Shared Ministries (NDSM) is now supported by over 50 Covenant Congregations, including Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church.
The goal of NDSM is to combine resources –food, financial and volunteers – to better address the basic needs of low-income persons and families, primarily the working poor, living in North Dallas.
NDSM serves as an extension of our church and our outreach mission, helping our neighbors in need with multiple services including food, rent and utility assistance, medical and dental care, mental health and job counseling, ESL classes, clothing, school supplies and uniforms, eye exams/glasses, furniture, bus tokens and gas vouchers and tax preparation assistance.
NDSM annually serves 66,000 individuals across 22 North Dallas ZIP codes with services valued at over $5,000,000.More than 500 volunteers from Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church and other Covenant Congregations primarily operate NDSM. Specialized services are provided at NDSM by UT Southwestern Medical Center, Baylor College of Dentistry, North Texas Food Bank, Oak Cliff Lions Club, Foundation Communities and the Pastoral Counseling Center.
