Lessons From Quarantine - Adventure

In the age of social distancing with a newborn and a toddler, we have felt safest staying in our home. About week five of quarantine, we felt the walls closing in and knew we needed to escape. We thought carefully about where a family of four with a stroller could go safely, and settled on White Rock Lake. Since then, every Wednesday we have had “Adventure Days” hiking with our boys around different parks and trails around the metroplex. We have found turtles, snails, armadillos, and learned the importance of staying on the right side of the trail to let others pass. We have learned to always bring snacks, bug spray, water and more snacks.

During the pandemic, our family started the tradition of asking, “What was your favorite part of the day?” at dinner. Our answers on Wednesdays are always “the adventure”.
